Yeah winter will be nice, we should get at least 4 days where it gets below 85 degrees in February and then summer is here again

I'm ready. I got a great deal on a Sierra Designs floorless pyramid tent recently that ought to be just the thing for winter. I plan to either make or buy a small tent stove or other suitable heater and experiment with hot tenting.

I love fall, but when it snows everyone around here stays inside so I get the woods to myself.

I am now finally ready for winter. We had our first stretch of two weeks of decent weather. I finished up the outside jobs I was doing. I have inside work lined up for the winter. :) Life is good right now.

We had our two week summer, and starting tomorrow it's supposed to cool off and we have snow in the forecast for next week.

Still ready for winter. Saves money on buying ice to keep the food/beer cold. Mostly the beer. :)

Not me. I hate rain. Here in the Pacific Northwest - especially in the western part of Washington - it drizzles almost constantly. Mostly on weekends. I have my annual spot all ready made up. Under the house, back in a corner of the crawl space, a candle, a stuffed animal, and some kleen-ex. Around June, my wife will stomp on the floor above me and I'll come out to see if there is any dryness about, or if she is just frustrated because the grass is a foot tall. That, or I'll gauge things by how many times per hour the sump fires off.

Last I saw they are calling for snow showers by me this weekend. We were going to do a family campout with the Cub Scouts this weekend but we may cancel it due to some of the young ones have never been camping. Some of the leaders are afraid that folks won't be as prepared as they should and that the kids will end up not having fun and souring them on camping.

We got about 8" of snow last night and today. Went for a walk down by the creek. Despite saying I was ready, I am thinking I am not. Too much work to be finished around the homestead before the deep freeze.

I'm entirely set for winter and all packed up and ready to go. Hate summers because my meds screw up my ability to handle heat & humidity so am aching to get out to the woods. I'd be leaving on the 1st of November if the ##$*&^$## doctors wouldn't keep scheduling more CT's, MRI's and ultrasounds one after another.

Summer is hot here, during the day, but the nights are really nice. The bugs aren't bad, either, except for flies. When it gets too hot, just drive 1/2 hour, gain 3000 feet, and lose 15 degrees of heat. Fall is sweet. Nice temps during the day, even fewer bugs, cool-to-cold nights, hunting season, garden about done for, fishing gets better, aspens turn gold, time to cut firewood. Winter, isn't bad either. COLD nights (teens down to 0), but days warm up to the 50s. Snow in the high country to play in, or hiking in the lower desert country is great. Spring would be very nice too, but that's when the friggin' junipers start spawning, or rutting, or whatever it is they do, and my allergies kick in big time. So I pack up and head for the lower desert country in AZ with my fishing boat and camper. Life is good.

Not sure how close you are to WI, but Ashland got hammered today pretty bad. Some roads closed from flooding along Lake Superior.

Winters for us (Me & wife) = power outages. We finally installed a whole house automatic backup generator. Power outages are not a concern anymore! It seemed for a long time, that anytime the wind blew, we lost power. I guess the power grid in my neighborhood is/was susceptible to tree limbs, falling from them busting the lines. Huge relief for wife now as she doesn't have to worry about loosing contents of fridge now.
So I guess were ready winter.

I may be stuck in town but I'm happy tonight. First hard freeze warning for my area of the season so guess who's gonna be sleeping with the windows wide open tonight.

It's been winter like here for about a month now. It has snowed most days for about the last month, and gets to the minus teens in celcius most nights. Of course in a real winter here it will get to the minus 40's often and always below -30C, So minus 15C is not that bad. I am glad that I stocked extra wood this winter. The good thing is it will keep me inside most of the time focused on my studies, and feeding the wood stove. Man, I can't wait until I get a furnace!

Those dang grasshoppers feasted on my pepper plants all summer, our resident praying mantis was quite busy. Perhaps some cold weather will knock the 'hoppers out for good!
