As for me, I like them.
Yes, I know you can get flashlights like Olight, Fenix, or Nitecore for less money, but I think LED LENSER has very good quality control. My V2 has lasted me 9 years so far and still going strong. I also just purchased a P3 AFS and was once again impressed by its solid feel and quality.
So why the dislike for LED LENSER in certain forums?

Never heard of it, never seen a discussion of it here so I think you are asking in the wrong forum. Might go ask your question in the forums where you see the brand discussed.

Yes, I was talking about Candle Power Forums. I was wondering what the general opinion was here. :)

Understand that CPF dislikes any brand that is not a paid sponser on their site and makes Greta a metric ton of money... CPF tends to be rather snobbish of anything that isn't modded by Vinh, has a Malkoff drop in, or has an MSRP of less than $200.

Other than you, this forum is pretty indifferent about that brand.

"Coast" light, or, led lensor used to be a decent company but they've taken a straight nose dive into complete and utter junk. The last 5 lights I got from them stopped working in less than 2 months. They're complete lack of any quality control is what prompted me into buying my first "high end" flashlight and I haven't looked back since.

I will NEVER own another coast product.

Are Coast and LED Lenser the same brand? I thought Coast Portland was an American brand, LED Lenser is a German designed-Chinese made brand.
I agree about Coast- I had one which broke within 3 months of buying it.
LED Lenser on the other hand, has served me well. I’ve used my V2 for 9 years now and it is still going strong. It had been dropped, immersed in water, and has had a rough life.

    ummmm.......never heard of them.

My intro to flashlights was in the MC, surefire won their way into my good graces by making a high quality product and supporting it well after the sale. They replaced a light of mine that I bought before my first deployment no questions asked.

    Surefire or streamlight for me.

I did recently add an Anker to the car, they make excellent portable chargers so I figured I'd give the light a try.

Yes they are. It says do both on the LED Lenser website and the Leatherman website.

The only issue I had with LED Lenser was that the early ones (2002) produced a bluish light and the batteries were hard to get in Japan, forget what they used. Have to see if I can find it.

I've had both Coast and LED Lenser for years and I've never had an issue with any of them. They look almost identical. Bought them both at HD. My favorite (and oldest) is the Lenser.
