This work in progress is an exciting collaboration with a friend of mine named Bjorn Andreas Bull-Hansen. Bjorn resides in Norway and is a true ancestral Viking in a modern world. He is an expert on the subject of Vikings and is also a Norwegian author and screenwriter of 16 epic novels. The name of this knife design is Tyr, one of the principal gods of war in Norse mythology. This Norse inspired design would make a great camp knife or bushcraft tool. It features a tang for prying, and also a fire steel notch. The blade on this knife has optimum areas for both chopping and carving. There is a large straight section on the spine that will scrape well and provide a good target while batoning. The small swedge aids in penetration but the tip is still kept stout for bushcraft chores. The handle allows one to choke up for detail work or use the rear of the handle for chopping. The handle design works well with and without gloves on. This knife is a prototype and will be refined for production in the future. The blade is surprisingly light for its size.

Thanks everyone for looking! Check out Bjorn Andreas Bull-Hanson's channel on YouTube and also on his website at www.bull-hansen.com .

    Specs:
    TYR Prototype
    13.25" Overall Length with a 7" Blade.
Made of 3/16" thick 01 Tool Steel.
Handle for this one will be Karelian Birch.

That thing is a beautiful beast. Looks more like a short sword than a 'knife' but me likeee

Nice! Any estimate of a price range?

I know for me, suppressing the file work and firesteel notch would be a good thing. Fire steel ought to work off the squared spine just fine.

Yes, That is a design change we are already considering. I also think it will add to the look of the knife.

He has not been on here since July unfortunately...
