Some real skills here:
I'm thinking... use them for fish bait and cook some fish.
Interesting video. The guy definitely has skills that likely mean the difference in eating or going hungry in some cultures. That said, grubs are on my "no thank you" list.
Yeah, I guess that's how you know you are hungry. Tree shrimp. Maybe make up some cocktail sauce.
Thanks for that. Really interesting!
As far as grubs .I'm in .Just not raw. Mostly because of parasites.
Man we really got it easy .
I have eaten palm grubs which are very similar and they were great roasted. They had a pleasantly mild, nutty flavor. They actually left some oil in the pan after we fried them (grub oil!) due to the high fat content they must have.
I have eaten witchetty grubs too (raw) and they also had a nutty flavor but were far more juicy than the palm grubs.
Very impressive skills!
Stump shrimp. Any hot sauce?
Sure, why not? Down here in Louisiana, we eat crawfish by the sack when they're in season...ever see what they eat...?
I have heard a similar thing.
A buddy of mine swears roasted grubs taste like roasted hazelnuts. I haven't brought myself to try them yet though haha.
Great survival food... I ain't ever been that hungry though.
Hmm not really into food that "pops" when you take a bite out of it especially when its a big white grub that looks kinda like a big white maggot . Think id rather eat the bamboo it was cooked in instead .
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...
they have to be the nastiest looking foods I’ve ever seen. Guess I don’t watch squid squirm around before they get fried
