Yeah it ought to make a good sippin kuksa. Or a cute change bowl... or... a cute sumpin.:dblthumb:

I'm stingy with wood and just hated for the piece to be used for kindling. I salvage/use everything I can from every piece I cut.

Detail shots of the check in the rim of the 6oz. that's filled with CA. It's very short but it's there.

Beautiful work. Are there plans to have more finished kuksas available? I see the two on the last page. I’m thinking I’d like something bigger than 4oz for sure. Hard to guage size.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the interest Jason. I harvested a fresh supply of logs about a month ago and have been working to get some of it milled up, so yes sir I'll have some finished ones available.

Just giving the outside a tooled finish with a knife or sanded if you prefer a smooth outside and another coat or two of tung oil. They're probably 98% finished and could actually be used just as they are.

You might like to check out this thread for some size/capacity comparisons photos with measurments. I started it in the hopes it would help folks decide what they wanted regardless of whether they're buying from me, someone else or making their own.

Looking for a bigger kuksa to carve, say 12 oz plus, 16 would be better.
    Have anything kicking around?

I don't have anything already milled big enough to get one that big but I'd be glad to mill ya one bro.

It's about to get cool enough hopefully to be able to start milling some logs and I've got a bunch that needs to be done.

ETA: I might have some already milled that would get a 12oz but not a 16oz.

16oz would be a WHOPPER of a kuksa. I'd say close to 5-1/2" OD x 3" or so tall.

I hear ya, I'm a drink-a-holic myself. :3: If I drank alcohol I'd never get sober. LOL My edc 24/7 cup is 32oz!

What species did you want... Birch, Cherry?

Sorry brother I'm not sure what you mean by Highball?

I've got several blanks ready to go that will make a 4oz or larger kuksa.

I feel silly for not knowing what it was. :8: In my defense though... I've been in a bar/club less than a half dozen times in my life and when I did go it was to hear the band that was playing, not to drink. It's just never been my thing. Not that I have anything against drinking and I do every once in a blue moon enjoy a mixed drink before bed. Or a shot of whisky to help clear the throat when I'm sick.

we keep a bottle of Evan Williams American Honey whiskey in the fridge to use as cough syrup.
heat a shot up 10 seconds in the microwave and toss it back -- clears all the crud out of the back of your throat and soothes it on the way down.
takes us about 6 years to go through a bottle....

Here's the 16oz Big Boy Carve-A-Kuksa I made for @Broke that's going out today. I posted photos of it in my "In The Shop At TCOG" thread but thought it would be a good idea to share one here as well. At 4-3/8" x 3" she's a whopper. :dblthumb:

I have plenty of fresh birch kuksa blanks milled up to make kuksas from if anyone is interested in one of these.
