8-18-19 Fire snake and other strikers

Summer is settling in but the days are getting shorter. I found these two snakes basking out by the pond the other day.

I have one more fire snake to offer up today ant two other strikers:

    Number 1 Large size Fire Snake- $30 plus $5 shipping= $35 total
    8-18 #1.jpg

    Number 4 Large C shaped strike $25 plus $5 shipping= $30 total
    8-18 #4.jpg

    Number 7 Large size $30 plus $5 shipping= $35 total

(The numbered blocks are 3/8 inches square for scale)

    Here's the group:

These fire steels will fit happily in an Altoids tin, and like to nestle down in some shredded jute, maybe nibble on some nice charred cloth. They wont bite, but they will strike! If you'd like one for your own, just let me know the number by PM.

Paypal preferred (G&S), but if you want to pay another way, we can work it out. I'll ship anywhere in CONUS, cost included. Outside that area, we can work out actual shipping costs.

I am shipping these steels with a piece of black English flint and some charred cloth to get you started with some instant gratification. Below is a sample. My flint supply is getting s little low right now and some pieces are a little small, so I will also include a good piece of chert to get you going.

If you do adopt one, please be careful and give it a try outside with the char cloth. I don't want to be part of burning down anybody's domicile...

Also, the steel in these has been hardened and that can make them brittle, like a file and it is possible they can break if they get dropped on a hard surface or tossed at a rock, do please treat them with care. They will hold up to normal striking just fine. I recommend adding a lanyard to them.

I'll be checking back around the den and see if I can find any more snakes to offer up in the near future.
Got a feeling I will find some more.

I've had very good feedback on my strikers.

I am the proud owner of one of these snakes (thanks @pellegrino !).
It throws nice sparks. The char cloth is also excellent. So is the stone!
