    Hey guys,
I've got a yellow/tulip poplar (front & left) and a spalted gum (rear & right) hobo reels available. These have the latest updates and now come with a lanyard hole in the handle and the new pvc insert for the female threads. I actually have a quarter sawn oak one too but just finished it and don't have any photos yet, I'll wait to offer it until tomorrow. It had some checks in it and I want to be sure and photograph it well before offering it.

Post which one you'd like here and earliest time stamp for each one gets it pending funds.

All three of these are SOLD. Thanks everyone!!!
    More coming soon though.

$50 including free US shipping - PayPal Only Please.

Here's the quarter sawn white oak one guys. If I wasn't totally sure there would be no issues with this one I wouldn't even think of offering it. This wood has been drying in my attack for around 5 years so it's as dry as it could possibly be and any checking that was going to take place has done so. The checks have been filled/stabilized with epoxy. Part of the nature of working with wood is that many times just like us... it has flaws. Sometimes these flaws enhance the beauty of the wood by giving it more character. The wood was just too pretty not to go ahead and finish it and I stand behind everything I make if anyone ever has an issue with any craft you purchase from me.
I tried to get as good of closeups of it as I could get to show every detail.

Thanks brother! I thought so too that's why I went ahead and used it in spite of the checks, it was just too pretty not to.

They really do look great. I can't legally use this type of thing to fish where I live but if I did, I would definitely scoop a couple from you.

    Notice:
If any of you guys have a specific wood species request for a Hobo Reel please let me know. That way if it's not a wood I have locally and typically have processed I can order it. I may have to charge a little more depending on the species but I'm happy to get whatever anyone would like.
Doing so isn't placing an order and having narcolepsy I'm not able to take orders for product but it lets me know what interest folks have so I can be prepared. The last blanks I ordered were very wet and it has taken quite a while to get them dry enough to use, so having a heads up would really help.

    Thanks,
    T

All three of these SOLD guys... Thank You so much!

    T

    White Ash still available.

I have 3 reels available guys. Honey Locust... Cedar... White Ash. It's hard to effectively photograph all the grain on a round object but all three of these have nice grain to them. Even though it was cloudy when I took the photos the grain on the ash is almost washed out by the light.

This may be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyways. How do you fish with these works of art? Is there an ideal setup or technique that others have had success with? Thanks for any tips provided.

Not at all bud, a couple of years ago I had never even heard of a hobo reel. There is a full review here https://bushcraftusa.com/forum/thre...by-dub-with-thoughts-for-improvements.198535/ by dub where he explains how he uses his.

    Reminder
Any more wood species requests guys? I hate to order just one or two (Osage Orange) blanks and then someone ask for a specific wood type after I've ordered. It took a good month the get the last blanks I ordered dry enough to use and that was with a lot of assistance drying them. :)
