If you've seen my latest post in the "In The Shop At TCOG" thread you know I got a replacement for my bandsaw yesterday. That means I'm ready to do some milling and will get these PSK Handlines made.

If anyone else is interested in these please let me know & what species you'd like from the ones listed above. As far as I know I'm caught up on the Hobo Reels and I hope to start making these PSK Reels sometime later today.

    Thanks,
    T

Cherry, Mahogany and a single curly Maple.

The curly maple, 1 mahogany and 1 cherry will be going out to @PERRO

Also one of these will be going out to @seasonofthewoods

    All SOLD

    IMG_6983.JPG IMG_6984.JPG

I had 3 more in curly maple and foolishly let my planer chew them up along with several others.

The two cherry front right corner are closer to 1/4" than 3/8" thick. I salvaged them from the planer debacle but had to make them thinner.

I'll have more available if anyone else is interested but this is all I got today since things didn't go well.

I would definitely be in for one in any type of hardwood. I always wanted one of the WSI ones when I was a kid. Thanks!

Just received my new toys & started playing with the possibilities :22:

Checking my inventory of " Bluegill / Crappie Fishin Poles ". :33:
A couple of my Telescopic ( 13 ft ) Crappie Poles
    https://www.bnmpoles.com/collections/fishing-poles

I'll use a Wallymart Special, 4 ft Bamboo Gardening Stake.

    PSK Handline.
Terminal Tackle: Safety Pins / Hemp Twine / Monofilament Fishing line.

Back to re-tying my Safety Pin Rod tip, freehand this time & using Hemp Twine o_O
    [IMG]

I would normally use " Monofilament " ( 15 -20 lbs Main Line ) but decided to use Twine ( Bank Line ? ) as another example.
    I'm using 20#lbs monofilament ( 4 ft ) the full length of the " Pole / Rod ".

Then transition to a lighter monofilament, as a leader ( 8-4 lbs ) 12-18 inches long.

    HMMM, another possibility :33:

    TENKARA Line Holder :3:

Perro, wish i had seen this pic yesterday morning

    IMG_4288_zps56u6zqke.jpg

it would have saved me a lot of time yesterday afternoon and produced a finer result on the perch pole i am working on

    ponderment...

would some TiteBond lll help that application last longer

    me tinks maybe ±

EDIT: just scrounged up some safety pins from the bridal unit's stash and headed back to the barn for some R&R

Once you practice tying a few " Type of Connections & Knots ".. You'll do it almost without thinking.

It took me about ten minutes to " Rig " the Bamboo Fishin Pole. A River Cane & or any Semi-Straight Brush limb would have also easily worked out.

P.S: I've tried using Super Glues, on Monofilament to hold the Knots from slipping. Unfortunately, the chemical reactions make the Mono very Brittle. :56:

I use " LOON UV Knot Sense ", (Sets / Cures in Sunlight) works GREAT :dblthumb:

Another option for the eye, try using paper clips instead of safety pins. I suspect paper clips are far more readably available.

Got mine in mulberry, very nice! I thought it was cool that @foxfire had you remake these, because when I was a kid, 20 years ago, I remember seeing them on the WSI website. Chris Janowski and Ron Hood we're THE names in survival at the time.

I'm actually working on some OO ones today. :dblthumb:

If you don't mind the cost of shipping them over the pond...
and if you would be willing to help me figure out how to fill out the customs forms...
and if you were ordering several (I'm not sure it would be worth it for you or I either one for just a couple).

    Another update:

All that's left of the PSK reels is 4 in Mulberry guys.

As I mentioned above, I have no plans to make more of these unless it was a special order of 10 or more. They're just not something I want to keep on hand all the time.

    Thanks!

I have 3 of these left in Mulberry.

If anyone would like to have these 3 I'll take $20 shipped in the states for all three.
