Was going through some pictures yesterday and got some good memories back , thought I'd start this thread where you can all share your memories in a simple manner , it will be easy for everyone to see , read and experience it , I can write like 10 pages about each trip but we don't have time for that and it won't be interesting for most.

So there are only 2 rules , 1 picture per trip is allowed with maximum 2-3 line description

    I'll start it off

    1. This was one of the first shelters I have built in which I actually spent more then 1 night, hazel skeleton covered with spruce , great trip , great nights spent there with my doggy in some cold weather

    IMG_1446.JPG

    2. this was a ruff one , stayed in deep snow in a bivy , got down -20c at night , got in and out with my roycroft skis , lesson learned condensation sucks , leave the top open a little, do a workout before going in sleeping bag you will be warm all night

    IMG_6613.JPG

    3. stayed under a fallen tree with my dog , nice shelter, -10C at night , stayed warm with my dog , was snowing whole night , best morning I ever had as in this kind of weather was woken up by birds singing sitting on top of my shelter , I didn't want it to end , smoothin it... IMG_6940.jpg

    4. start of a permanent shelter , made a Mors Kochanski style flexible bed, was very comfortable to sleep on , was sad one year later I was not able to find it , I was like wtf and then saw that all trees around it where cut down illegally and shelter was berried under it , very sad and angry, good times spent there and many nights

    IMG_7485.jpg

    5. On one morning when working on the shelter above decide to shave my beard with a mora knife , actually worked (don't ask where I got the foam from :D ) was nice to prove my knife was actually shaving sharp

    Screenshot_25 (3).png

    6. more recent trip , spent night in my underground secret shelter with my two dogs , wool blanket , sheep hides for mattress, enjoyed very much , first night in the woods with my second dog which is just 1 year old.
pouring rain the day before and night , was nice to stay dry IMG_0708.JPG

    7. overnight with my doggo in a polish lavvuu , was in city for quite a while going crazy , this trip made me feel home again and enjoyed it. did a two piece pot hanger , liked how it came out.

    IMG_9736.JPG

    8. the time I made a boat with spruce frame and a tarp , was sad I couldn't test it as it while carrying it to water I slipped , fell down , almost broke my back and ripped a huge whole in the tarp , also broke my camera, very sad , very painful but the most sad thing is I was not able to test it , maybe next time.... image.jpg

    9. overnight next to a lake , caught 4 fishies , cooked them the next day on a rock along with some steak lol
    IMG_7949.JPG

Will post more trips when I have more time

Now I'm waiting for your stories and pictures
    God bless
    Nick

Not sure what's missing in the pic. A Fred Bear bow or a Camel cigarette. You sir, should of been in the movies.

Camping with my Dad in 1973. Most of our family vacations involved a week in the woods.

This was just an overnighter, but way off the beaten track. Drying my feet by the fire with a cup of tea, watching the sun go down. This is life.

That is an AWESOME pic. I only drove through Land Between the Lakes twice and I have always wanted to return there. Someday I will get to that.

Nick, I have time to read and interest for sure. I bet others do too. Neat idea for a thread. I have to see what OLD pics I can find.
Now, start writing those 10 page reports. :)
