    @Luzster thanks for the heads up. I've used a handheld portable heat machine for sealing plastic bags, removing food from cans (c-rations) for lightweight packing & transportation. The idea using the wire hanger is impressive. :)

    I like it thanks. I've used a hair flat iron to seal mylar bags before.

    That's an amazingly useful trick!

    You can buy zip loc bags of any size you wish . look online or go to Hobby Lobby .craft stores usually handle them.
    I too know how to improvise too , but if I don't have to it's cheaper in the long run to use the commercial provisions.
