I'm not really a diehard fan of any show, but I do love The Walking Dead series. I think it's a wonderful portrayal of a truly extreme SHTF situation. And I know it has stimulated lots of talk on the web about doomsday prepping and survival.

So, today when I realized I was seriously behind on this season of Fear the Walking Dead, I knew it was time for some binge watching. And of course, that required snacks. But, when I got to the store, I decided to get into the spirit of things and only grab stuff I might perhaps be lucky enough to find left on shelves after the apocalypse had struck.

Cooking spam on aluminum foil over the little BRS gas stove actually worked quite well.

And dadgum... I forgot how tasty spam n' crackers with baked beans is. :D

You are going to need that candle to mask the foul stench that will more than likely soon follow.

Not for me. The other thing I forgot is how more than just a few slices of spam in one sitting can quickly cause that greasy gut feeling. Waaaay too much fat and salt, even in the "25% less" variety.

    Definitely just survival food.

Ah, well... it was a fun excuse to break out a couple items that spend too much time just sitting on a shelf. And the makeshift foil pan did turn out to be a neat little experiment.

Yup. It was Carl. And if I remember right, he went to the roof of a building and ate it all. :)

Next binge, youre down to cat food and homemade hardtack crackers.
I cringed at the aluminum foil. The information about the health risks are too great. I should really stop drinking canned energy drinks on that note :46:
And now Im hungry for twinkies

I never cook with aluminum. But in the zombie apocalypse you gotta' go with what you got.

    It's called "survival." ;)
