How do i put a patina on my Opinel? (Im an idiot its stainless, ignore this thread, or feel free to laugh at me )

I've tried many different things now, apple cider vinegar, mustard, and today, I went over the blade with a coarse steel wool pad and then soaked in vinegar for four hours, before moving to a vinegar-soaked paper towel. Nothing. Any ideas on how I can force a patina?

    Bag Modification

Hello, I was wondering if any of you would be able to help me with a problem I have. I recently bought a Fjällräven Stubben pack. I cannot find a way to attach a wool blanket because I do not have enough room for it in the main compartment. I considered sewing on lash points to the bottom of the...

    Stanley "Half-Stop" Pot Mod Video

I mentioned this is passing in a short earlier video, but I thought I would do a proper video on it now... not that the old one was "improper" really. I didn't cuss or have my zipper down. Anyway, it's a way (or another way) to modify the Stanley billy pot to be suspended over a fire. I think...

    Knife tuning

So when I go out into the natural environment, I usually bring a 4in blade and a dedicated chopper. But recently, I have been wanting to revamp some knives I have and they look pretty cool. I took an old hickory butcher knife and soaked it in lime juice overnight and it looks like a 17th century...

Did some mods to my kayak

Skab gave me the heads up on the deal the Menards had going on the waterquest kayak back in the spring. So I got me one. I figured it was a good cheap way to see if Kayaking was something I was gonna like or not. I like it. Thanks, Skabber. Not many mods here, just a couple that I had fun...

OH Necker Mod & Sheath Mod

After doing a couple of other OH mods, I decided to try my hand at making a neck knife from an Old Hickory (1095 steel) Household/Boning knife. I used a chisel to split the scales so I could remove them. [/IMG] Here's the naked knife that served as my raw material: [/IMG] I first shortened...
