2012 Yukon Quest

Since many of you are interested in dog sledding, here is the site for the Yukon Quest. It is the second most popular race, after the Iditarod. Some argue it is more difficult.

Anyway, the race starts today and there is a tracking section on the site for anyone that wants to follow it.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner usually has good coverage of the race too.

Actually it is quite tougher due to the changes in elevations combined with the terrain features. The Iditirod is more a sprinter's race once you hit the open ice. They have also gotten better billing over the years. Most of the big names have not even attempted the Quest as their dogs are trained for more sprinting. My opinion only.. based on 20 years mushing experience....
