I tought I would show you an auger typical for Norway (or is it?).
It is called a Navar.
They was usually made on request by the local smith, but were also made en masse by larger smithys.
This is typically a boat builders tool, but larger navars was also used when building timber houses.
They come in several sizes; typically from a few milimeters in diameter to about 25-30mm.
The navar on the above pics is about 13mm in diameter.
I don`t use it very often. But I think it is a nice tool for a "bushcrafter".
