I want to thank the founders of BCUSA and the active members who have made this trip possible! Without your knowledge and willingness to share said knowledge...I would never have attempted a lean to shelter, a flint and steel fire, char cloth, hand sewn leather pouches, a pocket stove, a canteen cup (still gota get one of those canteen cup lids...LOL), I would have never owned a Mora, a BK-2, much less a BK-2 with a maxpedition pouch and survival kit...a mora spoon knife, wooden spoons, kupilka and the likes.....yeah...Survivor Dude and I would have gone out...but it would have been with a Coleman stove, lantern, and tent...air mattress, plates, forks, knives and spoons...we'd have spent over $40.00 at the grocery store and ended up with a box of pop tarts and a Diet coke!!!! I've been a member of BCUSA for just under a year...and I've learned more from all of you than I could have ever learned from any book, DVD or youtube video! There is a great band of folks here and I am honored to call each of you my friends. I welcome you around my camp fire and hope others are as moved by this site as I have been. Thank you so much for all you've done to teach me skills in order to reach out to my family in order to teach them things they never would have learned. I've now got an 18 year old who can spark char cloth with almost any stone and an old file, I've got a wife who can do many of the same skills I've learned here...and a 9 yr old "Survivor Dude" that is chompin at the bit to learn more! There are so many people here who have helped and never even knew it...my thanks goes out to everyone of you....I could not even start to list names here as there are so many of you and i would be afraid to leave anyone out...all I can say is....THANK YOU.
