Early this morning, before the sun was even up, I hopped in the Wrangler and made my way due North to the Beebit Woods (really just the nice woods behind beekeepers casa). I arrived around 7am and had a nice fire going by 8:15am.

I had planned to spend the day and night, possibly two nights, just relaxing and hanging out next to the streams. However, by the time I finished lunch, I just wasn't "feeling it". It was also becoming overcast and a little windy. I dunno, I just felt off and wanted to come home. Ever have one of those days? meh. I was really looking forward to tonight in the woods.. there will be a next time though. :38:

Just a couple pics of the fire and my Alice kit for the Alice porn thread.

Todays tinder was a nice big random piece of dry bark and some birch bark. Didn't take much to get a nice fire going today.

Glad ya got out. Sometimes it does not go as planned. Thanks for the pics, love to see those Alice packs!

everyday can't be nirvana, for sure....

at least you got out there for awhile - sometimes "a little" is all ya need. :)

I aborted my last trip, and wound up car camping at a pay site for a couple of days. This happened to me just a couple of weeks ago. Guy's don't try pulling your packs on a game cart on a single track trail. It doesn't work very well.

I know what you mean! Once, during the summer, I was out at camp and it was hot, humid and the mosquitos were having a fine meal at my expense. Sweat was burning my eyes and the guy with me was miserable, too.

We packed up and headed home with no regrets. While we could have survived, we had gone there to have fun; this wasn't.

I too have had those days. You get all fired up about getting out , you get there and then blah! Nice pics and kit you got there. There is always another day.

Nothing wrong with calling it, I have learned alot from those types of trips...
the fact the trip started is whats great to see.
I look forward to the next one from you
Take care

heck iv'e had days like that many times

think thats bad, try having one 500 miles into a 700 mile canoe trip a hundred miles from the nearest road and no one around to complain too about it!! now that sucks!!!

reckon we all have those days amigo you'll get er next time...woods

I think we all have had days like that, but i have never let them hold me down for long. remember even if you get out for a little while its better then sitting in front of the tube or computer all day.

What really matters is that you got out, didn't get hurt and got home safe and sound.

Ive been there brother sometimes you just arent in the mood but a little bit of time out is better then nothing

Getting there is more than half the effort , my daughter says she will call the cops if I stay gone more than 2 weeks, I say I am just getting settled in , we can talk ourselfs into most any thing positive or negative , I like positive better.

Yeuup I've aborted trips too. Sometimes I''l head out with a plan for x number of nights and it'll end up being just a day trip, or a one nighter when I planned for 3.

I've forced myself through a few times and sometimes I'm glad I did, other times I just got miserable.

Every time we get out it's worth it, independent of time.
