I'd appreciate prayers for peace and strength. My other dog is down, it looks bad. He's had a bad hip for years, and it looks like it's finally caught up with him. He's 13, which is old for a dog his size, and he's had a good life, I just can't stand seeing him hurting, and think it's time to put him down. He was fine yesterday, but this morning he had trouble getting up, or even standing, and hasn't gotten any better all day. I think it's time.

I just went thru this the day after Christmas with my dog Molly, who lost the battle with cancer. I was pleasantly surprised at how well Stewart did on his own, as he'd been with her for all the 6 years I've had him, and didnt do well alone before I had him.

I see others issues and feel like mine are pretty insignificant, but my dogs are my only companions, and get to be family. It's hard to let them go, or see them suffer. Stewart was a pound dog, but has been a great dog all the years I've known him and had him. He was just 1 1/2 when I got him for an ex girlfriend, then I later came to have him full time. One of the happiest dogs I've known.

Thanks for any prayers.

Oh no Bro not again! I'm so so sorry that you gotta go through this again so soon Brother

So incredibly sorry for you. We lost our two Golden doodles one at 8, one at 6 yrs old within 1 year of each other. The loss is so very hard. Deepest sympathy for you and your family.

Your in my prayers. Anyone with a dog knows how special they can be to us so don't feel bad asking for people's thoughts and prayers.

oh brother....I am SO SORRY for ya, man.
My heart goes out to you. really.

my dad's 2 labs of 14 and 13 years had to be put down within 2 months or each other - about 3 or 4 months after he died.... very hard....

It's done.

He went very peacefully in the back of my Suburban. The Vet was very kind, and good. I'll bury him in the yard next to Molly in the morning. They were best buds, and inseparable all the time I had them both.

Thanks for the prayers and kind thoughts and words.

That sucks.

It's hard to let them go but it's better for them and you.

Prayers sent!

So sorry for you. Any 'dog person' will understand.

Listen, you did well by your friend - he counted on you to do what was right by him - even it was the hard thing to do - and you did well. I have said a quick prayer for you.

Please keep us all informed as to how things go for you in the next little while.

Hang in there, K, buddy?

smoke and prayers for your loss -- like several others here, I've been there and have felt your pain.

I'm sorry man, losing one is devastating. Been a year since I had to do the same with my Sibe. It still kills me. Can't even imagine going throught it again so soon.

While the loss is never easy, focus on the goods times not the very end. I bet both of your Mals were fantastic companions and gave more than you asked of them. Don't think of the last few months but of the years of fun and enjoyment they gave you.
