First off thanks to Whiskersnitch for selling me a knife I'd been drooling over for a while.

For giftmas I bought myself a Becker BK-2, and the optional Micarta handles.

But I wasn't satisfied with just swapping the handles for the Micarta ones, so I made a lanyard for it, ok you say that's pretty basic most folks do that. Well while browsing the BCUSA forums I came across this thread: BK2 Sheath Mod by The Warrior and I liked the mods he had done. But I wasn't sure I wanted to go that far.

What I did do was add a pouch in my case a County Comm Large PCC and a couple 3/8" cable clamps to hold the firesteel.

The pouch will fit a standard size Altoids tin with some extra room.

Everything all together, I just need to order some shock cord to be sure the firesteel won't fall out, as it is right now it's pretty snug.

that looks cool man, sometimes I have to wonder if I'm wrong about this knife. the sheath mods are really cool too.
only thing I noticed is if you're a righty the pouch closure will be facing forward and could get pulled open by brush, might want to rig some shock cord security on that.
thanks for posting

It's just a matter of flipping the orientation of the pouch, the straps holding it on are velcro, and it's easily removed.

I hadn't thought about that though, thanks for pointing that out... it's now fixed.

most hardware stores have shock cord, not big box ones like lowes though, go to an Ace or a TruValue, I got some just today at Academy Sports and out doors so I can make my tarp lines. was like 3 bucks for 45 foot.

looks pretty cool, I'm not a big fan of the whole pouch on sheath thing but if that's what you want have at it.

That's the best part of the setup, if I decide I don't like the pouch, on there or decide I want the pouch off, all I have to do is undo 2 velcro straps and remove the pouch.

Nicely done brother.
Thanks, your post was the inspiration for me to make it my own.

nice dude...get you a bcusa patch for that velcro :)
Already have one... I just need to sew on some velcro.
