This past Wednesday, my brother and I laid our father to rest. He was 64, and had been fighting various types of cancer over the last several years.

On the 27th of Nov. he was given 6 weeks to 6 months to live(the cancer had gotten to his kidneys, liver, and around his heart), on the 10th of Dec., the hospice caregiver increased his morphine, and started him on oxygen...he passed away that evening before either my brother or I could say our goodbyes-my brother was coming from Pearl Harbor, HI where he's stationed; me from Iowa...

My father served in the United States Navy for 21 years as an Aviation Ordinanceman, he was buried @ Ft. Mitchel Nat'l Cemetery, just east of Ft. Benning, on the Alabama side...he was given full military honors, and being the oldest son, I was presented with the flag that covered his coffin...

...Rest In Peace Dad, your suffering is over...take your watch @ the Gates of Heaven...my brother and I will join you when our time comes.

My Condolences Sir. May he indeed Rest In Peace and Peace surround you and yours.

so sorry for your loss.

we have all benefited from every vets service....and are all slighted with their passing.

"Fair Winds and Following Seas" to your Dad.
