Bushcrafters seem to be pretty creative guys and gals. I was wondering what you guys do that is bushcraft-like, but normally carried out by a modern day tool.
For example, I always sharpen my pencils with my pocket knife. It might not be as good a pencil sharpener, but I think it is fun (basically like whittling a stick).
I think it is a fun way to get a little taste of bushcraft when I don't have time to get outside. Anybody else do anything like that?

Though not specifically bushcraft based I prefer to do my woodworking (like making furniture for the house) using hand tools and traditional joinery. I am not practiced enough to do it as a business but I do enjoy making the furniture that way. A lot more satisfying than using power tools, hi-tech fasteners, and anything made by IKEA.

I put a hitch decoration on my truck but didn't want to use my stinger's pin...so I carved a stick to fit, split the end and drive in a wooden wedge.

I use my ferro rod to light my grill.

My tea is sitting in a usgi canteen cup (because I don't have a kuska...yet).

I keep a candle lantern by the bed.

I use different types of rocks and stones when I am working with some types of driftwood. I find the stones do a good job of removing unwanted material while not over-smoothing like sand paper can do. On some stuff I use sand paper, but I prefer the traditional smoothing method with progressively smoother stones.

I also use a Mora for a lot of rough carving and then switch to my Flexcuts for the finer work. The Scandi grind is excellent for carving.
