Axe making and cabin construction vid


I have saw this vid before it is great ,and the lady with the hammer looks handy to have about.
 
I really like this one. I will probably watch it yet again if it comes up some ther time. I like that axe and really like seeing the joinery.

many years ago R.Underhill did a show on swiss or swedish log building.( i forget) nor recall if it was shown in the program or not, but as he recounts(i dont know him personally) they made fun of him for pulling out a chisel or god-forbid a plane to do work they did with the axe.

kina something to keep in mind while youtubing some chap with multiple same tools to do one job that was likely orginally done with mostly axe... fwiw
 
That's the kind of log building we learned at B. Allan Mackie's in Prince George, BC. Swedish cove with saddle notch, very tight as it drys.
 
That was shot at Gränsfors Bruks workshop and the female smith is Ulrika Stridsberg that is currently the teacher at Gräsnfors forging courses, if I'm not wrong.
