Gabe (gaga) gave some TLC and put handles on my Genuine Norlund and Collins Legitimus. He did a great job of which I am most thankful. In fact, he has two old Snow and Neally's and another Legitimus of mine he is going to fix up. Got a Hults Bruk 1.5 lb that needs some TLC too if I can convince him. :)

Thanks again Gabe.

Ha!

Fantastic, I have used both in green and dead wood. The Norlund especially does well for the size wood I have and need to cut. The Legitimus does incredibly well in green wood. Have not had a chance to put it in a large softwood yet where it should really shine.

"They don't make'em like they used to" is especially true with an axe!

What kind of wood did you use for the handles?
seasoned Hickory , poplar wedge+linseed O, glue: ultrabond eco 990 -leftover from my job , handles are finished with urethane ...but can be stripped and oiled , the heads are cleaned buffed inside and out, the edge profiling done with hand file, grinder sand disc , belt sander, felt buff ... but they not perfect :3:

interested .but for the 2way shipping cost 30$ that is gonna take...you could just take a good look on the site at are rehafting threads and DIY, is really no big deal to it, and i think you have all tolls necessary in your garage , but if you come to GA meet next month ...ill do it for you there around the fire, or i'll come to a FL meet ...
Double B is easier to do than single bit

Point me in the right direction for details on the GA meet next month. I've been up to General Coffee State park for a Frugal Squirrel meet before.
