backpack from duffle bag

I bought a duffle bag this past summer at a yard sale for $6 sadly it wasnt US issue :( it was china made which I didnt notice till after I got home with it.
I decided to make a backpack with it. After trimming the top down I made a flap from the longer side and added one inch webbing by using a heavy duty sewing glue and then sewing it with the inner strands from paracord which seems to be holding quite well.
I'll be testing it out this coming week on a day hike.

as you can see the straps arent perfectly lined up but they work

and me with the pack on
 
for about $10 total I think it will be good for an overnighter or two :)
I may try to add more straps on the bottom for attaching a sleeping pad or wool blanket.
 
Been thinking about doing something like that if I can ever find my old seabag....but I think my ex took it a long time ago....along with my 'crows', service ribbons and such.....

ex's are just that for a reason

maybe check yard sales or goodwill/salvation army type places?
