I bought a duffle bag this past summer at a yard sale for $6 sadly it wasnt US issue
it was china made which I didnt notice till after I got home with it.
I decided to make a backpack with it. After trimming the top down I made a flap from the longer side and added one inch webbing by using a heavy duty sewing glue and then sewing it with the inner strands from paracord which seems to be holding quite well.
I'll be testing it out this coming week on a day hike.

as you can see the straps arent perfectly lined up but they work
