Having retired many of my old knives from use, or given away, lost or had stolen
, I've been slowly getting replacements, and not having the money I once had, I try some cheapos now and then. I'm a pretty big fan of my old Bokers and have used models from Argentina(like the Arbolitos alot wish made more in that line personally) and have bought some fixed blades in the asian made Plus and Magnum lines. The plus line I like for most part, andI still have a Magnum fixed blade. I was on another forum and was introduced to a knife guy, who had a pretty large stock of Boker plus folders really cheap. They are what some retailers call the 'sheild series'. Supposedly space for engraving, basically Case knock offs. The handles are an acrylic, plastic...440c blades(supposedly, I'm no metalurgist). I was pleasently suprised that they are actually pretty well made for a 10 dollar knife. Been rotating them in my EDC for several weeks now and used them in various duties. The lock back I'm using quite a bit, the 'stockman' I bought as it had a 'punch/awl' It's more a blade that would make nice round openings in material, if that makes sense. Just thought I'd share the experience, that I think for a cheap knife they are worth it. They typically go from under 10-15 bucks. This was kinda a test to see if the fit on the folders from asia(which I hadn't tried aside from some assist openers) was anygood or not.
