I wear a 10 6e and am having a really hard time finding good hiking boots that are waterproof to fit my feet. I also have big calf's and a really tall instep. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Danner makes (or made) 6E boots.

Keen shoes are wide enough for me. I love the Newport H2's.
The Keen boots are sized by evil small people. They are not wide enough by a mile.

Try the LL Bean Hunting shoes - my dress shoes are 135E and my bean hunting shoes are perfect for me. Of course, there are lots of boots out there that mimic the style of the Bean hunting shoe from Cabelas and even house brands at Academy and Bass Pro....

just a thought. Good luck! Finding a good fit is awesome when you can nail it! ;)

kenetreks or mindels are good boots. i have wide feet too and am hard on boots. i am a guide so spent many hours in boots. so good boots are a must for comfort and durability.only disadvantage i find with these boots are the soles are a little hard so they take a liitle getting used to, not as grippy on wet surfaces as some boots

Try Irish setters King Toe? My Rockies are EE not sure they offer any wider. Rocky offers a newer model with a larger toe box, I bought them this yr in a ee and they are even wider than my bear claws! Good luck with your search! 6E!!! You must swim like a duck!!!!

check out Dunham - made by New balance, but not in the states if that's a sticking point for you.
I have a pair of cloud 9's that have lasted me 5 or 6 years. last week the sole started to separate from the last, so I gave them a shot of "shoe goop" to glue them back together -- it'll be interesting to see how long the repair lasts.

I have had pretty good luck with some of the Garmont boots- Very High Volume. I wore 4E for a long time, then figured out it is more about volume of the individual shoe that the width.

Maybe also look at a Cabela's hunting boot (Outfitter 7" If I remember correctly is uninsulated?) - My Dad has a pair of them, some Irish Setters, and some NB hikers. He wears a true 14 4E.

Of course, it all comes down to price. You can get some to fit, but I would have to live in them as well. If you step up to customs, it is serious money, but I imagine they are worth it. I will never know.

thanks for all the reply's and advice. Im going to my local boot store to see what they have and what i can get in my size. ill be going with the brands said hear and see what happens. ill keep you guys informed of my choice.

This is the 3rd time in 2 days i've posted about ASOLO tps 520 GV (gortex Viram) my feet are wide as well and they make a wide version of most sizes im 10 1/2 wide there made in ROMANIA and tuff as nails you cant go wrong and you can find them under $300 and you should get several years out of them and I MEAN SEVERAL

if you can afford 400 for a pair try wesco or whites i think both companies still offer a kit where you trace your foot out and yhey are custom made for your feet, both of these boots are rebuildable.

i did just find these and was wondering if anyone had any experence with the company. they make them to fit and are a whole lot cheaper than wesco or whites.
