Batteries went out on this right away and lens didn't go back in so thought it was filming so that is why the fire is already built. Pics at front show some of the dead and dry twigs I used. about 8' of snow there so you need to get really dry stuff. used the knife for the striker and a little jute,dryer lint and charred cloth for the tinder and then added some fat wood and a piece of pine pitchy wood after that. used the pencil lead size, pencil size, etc in that order to build it. the slick grey wood is usually the driest. found under that fir some really nice branchy small stuff.
