Butterfly #2412 Kerosene pressure stove

I looked at those a while ago, but they were being sued by Optimus or some other European kero stove maker. They must have resolved that.
I'll be looking forward to more reports as you put more miles on it.

Have been looking at those, and wondering how efficient they are , and how long they can run on one tank, or 1 gallon of kerosene.

I like the idea of having a kero stove, kero lantern, and kero heater all set aside for camping and emergency power loss use.

I have lusted after those for a couple of years but not yet succumbed and actually bought one. How well made is it? Any leaks if you store fuel in it? Does it burn clean or soot up the pot bottoms?

There is also the BriteLyt/Petromax stoves for 3x the $$$. They are also a pressurized design but claim they can safely be used with gasoline, diesel, and other flammable liquids.

Quality of construction is about what you'd expect from Indonesia. I have not fully tested it yet to give you a good enough review. It does burn efficiently. I prime it with HEET (yellow bottle) and that works well. It takes a little getting used to as the pump mechanism isn't like a traditional Coleman stove/lantern that we're all familiar with. Allegedly it will burn for about 4 hours on a tank of fuel. Being kerosene it doesn't burn as hot as white gas but it gets the job done. The wrench it came with didn't fit any of the fittings so I discarded it and used a small Crescent wrench. The burner comes off and a brass screw-on cap is provided for transport. Time permitting I will post a more in-depth review with some better pictures as well

For what its worth here is a link to my YouTube channel where I posted a 12 second video of the stove. Video was taken from my phone so its not very good. Also, this is the first time I've uploaded a video to YouTube and have a lot to learn.

Butterfly #2412

I have a butterfly brand #2412 brass pressure stove. It burns about 4 hours on .6 litres of kerosene. Heat output is about 7k btus. It is solid brass, comes with a spare parts packet, and costs only $55.

Somebody said something about a lawsuit - not so. Britelyte had a problem with the Butterfly brand pressure LANTERN because one of the pump parts Butterfly was using was in violation of Britelyte's USA patent. When informed of this, Butterfly switched back to using the leather cups, but this was the #828 lantern, not the #2412 brass stove, and there was no lawsuit, just a friendly legal request. The USA importer had to suspend sales of the lanterns for about a month in late 2011 until they got the leather cups to convert the pumps.

Britelyte aggressively protects their copyrights in the USA, yet for some reason their dealers haven't had any product to sell for about two years.

Britelyte's products are arguably the best in the world (when you can buy one), but they also cost 2-3 times as much as comparable products made overseas. The Butterfly #2412 brass pressure stove is manufactured in Indonesia.

Thanks usekero for the clarification. One more tithing to add to my want list.

i bought one of those 16 wick butterflie stoves. i played with it a couple of times to try it out. it worked well. well the torture test came with it when at -45c i put it under the oil pan of my buddys diesle truck that wouldnt start. it took a while but after about 6 hours when we went out and tried it, the truck fired right up. the engine was warm to the touch. this is a great stove in my opinion. it still had a fair amount of fuel still left in it.this stove was pretty cheap and it gives me comfort just knowing that it is sitting in the shed.
