I was bored today an it was raining so I went to "Wally World" and got some stuff to play with. I kind of copied the design from another member, don't remember who, but I apologize.
I used a set of 6 glitter shakers from the crafts section and some scrap leather i had layin around. Made a bead of sorts, from a twig I found outside.
Lemme know whatcha think :-D

Looking good bro, looks top notch. I just whipped up a spice kit using the same glitter containers, those things rock (thanks to Skab for posting about these)

I didn't know until I opened the caps that they actually are shakers so it's PERFECT.

I got salt substitute, black pepper, chili powder, Mrs Dash original, and Cajun seasoning

That is really nice work , now a question if you can answer it. The thicker stiffer leather prodjects like axe masks etc do you have to glue multiple layers of leather together to get that thickness. All I ever see on line is soft leather nothing that is thick and ridged.

I used strong spray adhesive on rough side of the leather then fold in half and press it with a weight on top.

i use those same shakers in my pocket fisherman to hold hooks and weights :) great job !!

Typically for sheaths and axe masks people use 8-9 oz. veg tanned leather. Hobby Lobby sells grab bags of scraps that usually have a few pieces in it. Tandy carries anything and everything you could imagine dealing with leather.

Ya know I'm really liking this idea, carring around those freebie pack of spices and such, is kinda a PITA....getting wet and all.

Making any for sale?....If so I'm in.
PM me

Nice job on that. Does anyone know where to get these containers without buying glitter? Seems like a nice item to have for sale in Bushcraft Outfitters store. I realize they are cheap even with the glitter but certainly they should be found for sale somewhere even cheaper if empty.

I don't believe the quality of my work is such that I would charge for one. Perhaps the winner of the giveaway can describe its worth. I'll be making another one soon though so perhaps you might have something to trade when I get it done.

I saw this post earlier today, so since I was going past Wally World at lunch time I decided to drop in and get some of these "spice containers".

Well let me just say that if your a grown man buying "Glitter Shakers" I would suggest going through the self checkout lane. It can get a little awkward waiting in line at the checkout counter.

Dollar Tree also carries these same containers (with glitter) for $1. They also have a larger size.......for $1.

I'm comfortable with my hetero status dude. People can think whatever they want.

I will have to check out the Dollar Tree. Instead of throwing the glitter out, you can leave a pretty trail behind you so you will not get lost. You could also get some of those colored feathers and make a bushcraft/pimp hat to die for!

Thats not a bad idea for a marker in an emergency situation, But I am handing my glitter off to a 7 year old who will readily spill it all over her place...hehe. Have fun cleaning that up.
