All being well am off up Scotland stalking in Feb,and they needed a Doe Box making for wear a junction of four rides meet

Its all sectional to get it up there, and to build it in on the 12ft high tower base

Well i had a load of shuttering timber dropped of to burn on the fire,so salvaged as much as possible to make it,looks like i'll just have too buy 1 sheet of 1/2in ply,so not bad for 16 sheets :D:thumbsup:

English. It's like a whole 'nuther language! LOL. At least you're not using metric, or we'd never understand you! (jk. i can follow metric lengths like Cm, M, and Km pretty well, temps in C vs F not so well... )

Can i assume that a "ride" is deer trail/path, is it a cleared area you can shoot along?

Is "shuttering lumber" what builders use to make a wooden mold of sorts for concrete pouring? looks like that's what's on the boards (old dried cement).

Regarding the trapdoor in the middle, i never thought to do that! every deer stand i've seen has a ladder up the side, and then you have to crawl through this tiny opening between two wall studs... now you've got me thinking... thanks!

Good use of old materials.

Nothing down $ and nothing $ a month -the only way to get lumber for projects!!
Will the open area be curtained to cover movement while in the stand
Great luck with the gralloch ing

Yes that's right, its the unplanted break between the trees :dblthumb:

On the button there too :dblthumb:

Will also be making the Ladder out of Larch poles and Re bar for the rungs :dblthumb:

My friends in West Virginia make similar, but you might say more luxurious permanent blinds. The blinds are scent insolated with sheet plastic and sound insulated with old shag carpeting. They use sliding Plexiglas windows to keep out the cold and watch for deer. It gets cold and snows pretty deep. I love deer hunting in the snow from a nice toasty deer blind. It almost feels like cheating.

Actually it might seem from my post above I am selling your efforts short, which wasn't my intent. I like your design, especially the trap door entry from below. The ladder design is deceptively simple and effective, as the wood seasons the rungs will get even tighter. I never thought of making a ladder that way. Amazing how the some of the same ideas are used on both sides of the water. Repurposing lumber, and other raw materials are not green practices; they are cost effective.
