I am not a bracelet or neck person.
But i wonder if instead of a bracelet, i can do something else.

About 3 weeks ago, got a hold of
This:

My favor hat i have worn for decades,
And chewed off my hat band, leaving a shadow of it on my hat.

So i was wondering if a paracord hat band would count as the bracelet.

If so, i need s little help. I would like to make it all one piece. Would anyone know how long a cord i would need to do so?

The circumference is 24.5 inches.

Dwayne.

To the Top ... . I didn't get an answer, so manybe it was missed.
the message above this. . .
Is it ok to substitute a hat band for a bracelet?

If so, I would like to try and make it all one piece.
Anyone have an idea how long of a piece I would need
if my hat is 24.5 inches in circumference?

Thanks in advance!

Hi folks! I've been visiting with friends and realized that I hadn't instructed my 4H Outdoor Skills club to carry a whistle with them whenever they head into the woods. So, we realized that we can do the trick with a paracord bracelet & also add to their fire kit. For those that are interested, here is a video of what I shared with the club.

Followed boredparacord's tutorial for this one. It was the first paracord bracelet I've ever made. I'm happy with the results. I loved the paracord's colors and pattern for this bracelet. I think I could have made it a tad bigger, but I also didn't want it flopping around on my wrist and wanted a more snug fit. Live and learn.

Day one and I can contribute!

Several projects I have kept, and I recently started working on a rifle sling.

Because I’m a unique and special snowflake, I mean Deadhead buckskinner I made mine out of hemp cord and used a deer antler button to close. The button was a salvage job. I had cut the slice of antler, rounded off the edges and then drilled the thread holes too close together. So I just turned 2 holes into one and passed both core strands thru and knotted.

arround my wrist. The variations in cord diameter really show. I may have screwed up a knot as well.

Buttoned. Since this is hemp
And not para cord, finished with a square knot instead of burnt ends.

As I have no use for bracelets, I made a belt instead. It’s really the same thing: it just takes longer, and uses more paracord.

That sounds fine to me.

BushClass is conducted unsupervised and on the honour system. More importantly, its point is not the creation of some arbitrarily-prescribed articles, but the enjoyable learning and practicing of specific skills.

There’s really no need to pester Terry for express permission: I’m confident that he is happy as long as we act in good faith and exercise common sense.

Anyone have an idea how long of a piece I would need if my hat is 24.5 inches in circumference?
A rough rule of thumb is one foot of paracord for every inch of cobra weave. So a 25’ length would be about right.

A quick lesson done with some spare Fake50 I had. Not much of a bracelet guy, but I can see the use of having this skill to make a neat, compact cordage carry solution.

King cobra weave, about 14' of continuous cordage. I like the idea of having that much as a ditch kit type item, though someone would damn near have to break my arm to get me to wear it. I'm forcing myself to wear this watch when I'm not at work for backcountry purposes where there is no cell signal.20220516_201718.jpg20220516_215652.jpg20220516_230947.jpg20220516_232143.jpg

So I started a braid and realized I needed it longer for another lesson. Turned this one into a bracelet which will be set for my kiddo to play with as she wants. I know its not the normal paracord bracelet. I will post one of those later.

Paracord Bracelet

Not much to say about this one, was going to use a clasp that I found, but ended up not using it.

Measured out 15', ended up being way too much...
