Just passing along the info. :) -jeffg

I haven't heard of these either but it looks promising. I assume it's new since it has the ESEE logo on it and not RAT or RC.

It's almost ready for release. I believe they are waiting on sheathing. The handles are hollow and removable and will come with a small fire steel and tinder quik tabs I believe.

That's been what 2 years in the making? It's a spin off of the version they did with Tops. Honestly, I like the Tops version better. The one down side I have always had with ESEE knives are the square handles. The LS seems to be continuing that tradition. I see why they do it, less time on the grinder shaping scales = lower cost = more sales.

Seems like a nice knfie though.

I am IN on this one !

and the folder !!

Interesting, I didn't know about that one but looks like it's another ESEE vaporware project at the moment. The ESEE-4 folder is another one... they get a cool looking prototype, folks get excited about it, then nothing materializes.

This particular one is kinda a neat crossover between the woodlore style blade and the ESEE tactical world. Not sure if I would buy one but it looks cool.

no it's not exactly the same, but pretty freaking close for me, and most likely half the cost, and it's 1095. Not knocking ESEE, make a good product that I've enjoyed using, I personally take more issue with TOPS.

Their FB page says LS are in production and shipping soon. They are finalizing the sheath.

They expect to start building the folder later this year. No date or estimate was mentioned.

They don't grind those handles by hand. They're milled, the reason they are so basic is simply to reduce machine time which helps keep the costs down.

The 3 folder went away after Lion Steel backed out on the deal. Probably a good thing considering how the first run of Pelton's HEST folder came out.

Agreed. Any further shaping of scales would be a cost issue.

HEST folder did kinda seem to bust the guys on doing a folder, which is too bad.

I have been waiting on this knife since SHOT 2011 when they first announced it. It looks to be the perfect size blade with a spear point so wood work should be a dream with it.
I will get one when they FINALLY come out.

Should be out in late March also have a new firekit design coming out then as well. The little candiru knife should follow soon after.

I'm, I can shape the handles to my own liking. Though them being hollow will have to be taken into consideration before whipping out the sandpaper.

Just pulled this from the Esee site straight from Jeff:

"Laser Strikes are in production and will be shipping soon. Waiting on Kyxdex sheathing. We are thinking pricing on them will be somewhere between the 4 and the 5. They will include a ferro rod and tinder tabs in the handle.

Advanced Fire Kits are probably the coolest thing we have ever built. They are ready to ship now and just waiting on me to get the instruction sheet done. So I am the hold-up on these.

Venom Green Knives: Going to powder now and will be shipping as soon as we get pricing to the dealer network and get them back from powder coating.

Stainless Steel: There will be an Izula and ESEE-4 in 440C this year. Shon is working the details out on that.

Folder: We will be building the Izula folder this year."

Condor has the Kephart and the other new models on their website, no stores have them that I know of yet.
