Not sure who but someone had the idea last year to post goals in our signature line. I was more of a lurker/reader and did not participate.
This year I plan to get out there more and stop making excuses. I will be switching from 2nd to 1st shift some time this summer and that will help a lot. I have set back to long and lived through others.
I have a camera now so no excuse not to do the BushClasses. I have done most of it but never documented anything.
I will try and remember my camera as much as possible. I might even try to make my first video but pictures are hard enough for someone as technologically challenged as I am.
Lets just hope I am not setting my self up for failure.

So who is with me?

I don't think your setting yourself up for failure, your planning on getting out and enjoying yourself, best of luck in 2012.

Good for you John. I did really well on the basic bushclasses since joining but I should have finished them. I had 3 weeks vacation in December and personal issues got in the way of getting out and finishing them.

I will finish them soon so I can start the intermediate classes. There is so much I want to learn this year. And getting out more to get it done and just enjoy life is paramount for me.

This year I plan on doing more with others from the forum. I want to get out and meet more of these good people, learn from them and share my own experiences.

I am going to steal a page from Trevor (Gwynn), this year I am going to GOAL. Life is too short to sit on the sidelines and be a bystander. I want to see it, learn it and do it. And most of all have a damn good time through it all.

I love your attitude man, happy new year. Now lets get it done !!

I want to win some contests & giveaways, I never win those.

I have several goals for this year.
*) Make fire with a bow drill (no success so far on 8 trys)
*) Build and make fire with a pump drill
*) Build a bow
*) Make traditional arrows
*) Learn to knapp arrow heads for my arrows
*) take small game with above bow and arrows

It will be a busy year.

My goals: complete bushclass basic, attend the hardwoodsman meet, and make my gas forge operational.

1. Get into better shape. I had lost a lot of weight but gained quite a bit back. Not as bad as originally but I am not happy. I need to get into better shape for the outdoors.

2. Scout new hunting areas.

3. Do more predator hunting this winter.

4. Make it a point to meet other like minded people.

2) Complete Bushclass Intermeadiate certificate
3) Complete Phase 2 of the Pathfinder School by the Fall Gathering and attend the Advanced class to complete the intructor Certification
4) Complete Iz's Hardwoodsman Tab

Signature field isn't long enough to list all of my bush related goals. *sigh* :17:

Go meet all of your goals John. You can do it. :50:

1. Backpack pictured rocks.
2. Do more flint knapping and get better at it.
3. Continue the weight loss.

At some point I would really like to take the Ultimate Albo course that Cody Lundin teaches but this year is our 25th wedding anniversary and my wife thinks we should go somewhere instead of me spending it sleeping on a reed mat in the Arizona desert. Go figure.

I'm going to work on the Hardwoodsman challenge and I'm going to run 6 minute miles again. When I was 20 years old, we had to run 6 minute miles to qualify for airborne school IIRC. Now 26 years later my wife and I have been working out 4 days a week, running and lifting weights, I'm currently doing 9 minute miles, I'm going to do those 6 minutes guys again.....

Go get em John-boy !!
If I can help in any way, let me know!

Not much others can do to help. More about getting myself motivated and off my butt. Will be watching what I eat better and dusting off my weights. I use to get almost like a high from lifting weights and the adrenalin rush it gives you. Getting in better shape will help with everything.
I found some woods recently that is county property and looks like it is almost never used. Property has one dirt floor pavilion, an outhouse, and there is a creek running through it. Lots of cut wood and downed trees to use. There is even a little shelter/fort that some kids have built.
Hope we can get some woods time together this year Robert. I know I could learn a lot from you.

I failed to meet my goal for 2011 (30 nights in The Bush - I got lazy and only got 22) ..
So, for 2012 : I have set the bar a tad higher (Optimize My 'Kit', and do 45 nights out there).
Hopefully I will "Git-R-Done" :-)

I just want to get out and start doing it. I seperated from the army this past summer and have been busy with the transition back home and school. This year I just want to make time to get out in the woods again.

1. Quit Smoking.
2. Lose fat, gain muscle.
3. Bushcraft Basic
4. More me time outside.

Good luck to everyone. I hope we all make time to achieve our goals.

Spend less time in Dr's offices.
Spend more time honing the skills I picked up this past year.
Meet 30 new members of the forum.
Attend 4 meets.
Attend another of Terry's classes.
Complete the Bushclasses that are available.
