Went for a hike with some friends (people, dog, and packgoats) last weekend. We hiked the Gold Dust Trail in the Gila National Forest in New Mexico. It's a rough trail going along the edge of a very deep canyon. After about 3 miles it drops down into the canyon and joins another trail along a beautiful trout stream called Whitewater Creek. From there you can go for many miles into the Gila Wilderness. We turned around and hiked back out when we reached the stream because the trail was all snowy, icy, and a bit dangerous.

great looking country- as always, Gila!

I just got my 'relocation package' from T or C chamber ofcommerce. I'm a few years away, but that area is on my short list to go check out.

thanks for the pics!

My girlfriends dad lives in T or C, she would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the area.

Solocanoe, I sent you a personal email re NM and T or C.

Beautiful pics.
Do the goats just follow wherever you go?

Yep, they follow me wherever I go. And eat whatever they find along the way. Very little trouble, good hiking and camping buddies, and very useful for carrying stuff.
