Okay, so I looked over old threads and stuff to try and find one relating to or similar to this and can't find any, so I thought I'd ask because I'm curious...

What is your personal favorite grind for your blade? And why? Bushcrafting knives specifically, but any other will do too....Hollow, flat, scandi, chisel, convex...The list goes on.

Personally, for bushcrafting I say convex although most of mine are flat...I need to remedy that. And my reasoning is that I can get it as sharp as any of the other grinds and just as quick, but that's because I'm very much used to sharpening knives. Also, it's more durable than say, a Scandi...Not that I don't love my Moras. My preference for a hunting knife is a Scandi, handsdown.

What about the rest 'o y'all? :32:

All my knives are either Flat or Scandi. Kind of foolproof to sharpen them, IMO. Although, I did just get a Hultafors GK that has a a secondary convex edge on it that I'm kind of intimidated by; I've never used or sharpened anything that was convex.

love my scandis for ease of sharpening in the field. convex is very strong and versatile. all this talk recently of scandivex has me intrigued. i guess it depends on what knife youre using and for what.

I picked up an F1 awhile back but have'nt dressed a deer with it yet so time will tell...Im also fairly new to scandi so for me it was flat which i can get to a razor's edge...Been sharpening some scandi's alot these days but i still have'nt had to touch up my F1, its still razor sharp but im starting to REALLY apreciate a convex grind

Scandi or Convex because the Scandi is easy to field sharpen and works wood good and Convex because it has a stronger edge, works wood GREAT, and holds a edge very well.
