I bought this tarp with my Hennesy Hammock and am looking for ways to use it alone on the ground. I really don't see it as a flexible design, but was wondering if you guys had some other options other than a standard a-frame.

I've got one of those and i love it.

I just change the angles of the sides of the "A". Works well for me. Sometimes I pitch one high and one low, both high, etc.

Not as versatile as a square or rectangle without additional tie-outs where you can make it into 32 different origami shapes, but sometimes simple is good, at least for me.

YMMV.

I would like to be able to flexibly use it and not buy another tarp for ground use.

This picture is a speer winter tarp. If you add doors to the ends of the hennessy, you'll have something like it.

Its a pretty tight foul weather tarp.

Thank you for this vid. This setup has it all. An ample sized floor without having to bring along another tarp. Bare floor for cooking and stowing shoes. A good view to the outside. Plenty of ventilation. Protection from drafts. Light weight, simplicity. And, the most elegant way to protect from mosquitos. I'm gonna' try that on both of the open ends of an a-frame.

I use that set up once and a while, it works well. But, mine is not a Hex tarp.

Posting a picture of your tarp might help people with configuration suggestions.

Just a pic I found online however it is the same. Grits posted a good idea. I just don't think it may be flexible for ground use.

I would say you just need to have a day of trying different set ups. Looking at it i can think of a couple different ways I would try, but it's damn hard to describe them in words!
