The objective for this lesson is to improvise a bowsaw and a bucksaw in the field.
The bowsaw should be made with the saw blade only, you may use any cordage you see fit, but the frame of the saw is made with the saw blade only.
The bucksaw should be made with a knife only, you may use any cordage you see fit, but the frame of the saw is made with your knife only.
In both cases you may use key rings or snare wire for saw blades with the holes if you need to.
The videos show the process step by step.
For the bowsaw:
For the bucksaw:

You must show your final work, of the saw actually in use or being used. Those without video capability I understand, try to capture images and the final amount of wood you cut with both saws.
IA Woodsman is going to add a video regarding splitting wood with the saw.
Couple caveats, please be careful using the blades, I know it's said repeatedly but it bears repeating. Sharp stuff cuts stuff, in this lesson you'll be doing a lot of cutting. Particular care needs to be exercised when making the bowsaw using only a saw blade. In addition to the cutting you'll also have to do some baton work, and in what may be a somewhat unusual way so be careful there as well.
If you have questions post them here.
Once you've completed the lesson post up your videos and pics in the student practice thread.
Here is the splitting wood with a saw video:
Lesson Requirements
1. Make a bow saw with only the blade(a wire saw is ok for bow saw only)
2. Make a buck saw with only a knife
3. Use both saws to split wood
Remember wood selection is important.
