Four brothers ventured out into the wonderful wintery world of the mountains of North Ga. A magical place for me; full of peace, reflection, fun, fellowship, learning, an exchange of ideas and a common bond of brotherhood. A place full of mystery and excitement nestled under a crisp wintery sky. Bushcrafting as it should be, skills used to make the things to thrive and enjoy God's country. Fine eating of fresh beef stew, peach cobbler, slow smoked boston butt, and of course bannock and corn bread. Yes we ate high of the "hog" and the beef. A cooking that was more old then new, using cast iron, carved wooden forks, spoons, and lid lifters. Felling dead standing trees with improvised buck saws and axes. Splittig them down with wooden wedges and basking in the glow and warmth of the hand blown fire made from the wood provided by our own two hands. A vist from another brother and a sharing of ideas and knowledge that made a day in the woods even grander. A good time was had by all indeed. A time that will not soon be forgotten and will be remembered fondly at other camp fires, spoken of in laughter over a good cup of coffee and the popping of a fire. Thanks again to these brothers.
