Ideas for a sheath?

I ordered a Cold Steel Trailhawk on Christmas day. It's going to be here this Friday and I didn't order a sheath. I really don't want to buy one because they are horribly over priced but I really need a blade cover and a belt loop. Does anyone have any ideas for making a homemade one? I don't know how to work with leather so it will have to be something else.
Thanks,
Ben

I recently hand sewd one out of some heavy duty canvas. I just used extra layers in areas that I thought would be wear spots. I designed it so the sheath had two thongs that would tie on around the handle to keep it on. I also used a maglight belt holder instead of a hand made one. hope this helps

Get some leather and some snaps and rivets from the hardware store. No sewing and it's not that hard. Good luck

Great reason to jump in and try your hand with leather... not difficult and a good skill to learn...

Get some easy rivets and scrap leather or nylon and make one.
All you need is a hole punch or drill and a hammer. Easy stuff, there are plenty of ideas and how twos on here.

Yup...a litter rubber cement and a few snaps and rivets later.

Mine took about 20 minutes, and was all scrap leather. If you have a Hobby Lobby near by, you can but a good sized bag of scrap leather (enough to make about 10 sheaths) for $5!

If you buy the bags at Hobby Lobby get the Veg. tan and stay away from chrome tan leather as it will discolor metal, Chrome leather is meant for making clothing items.
