I saw the recent thread about using the stainless utensil holder from Ikea as a hobo stove. It looked like a great idea and, I had some business within a few miles of the store and decided to stop and get one.
While there I also came across this interesting little stainless 5 piece cook set for only $9.99.
It's actually a kids play cookset but thought that it might make an interesting hobo set. It has a steamer basket, a pot with lid and 2 fry type pans. One is rounded stir fry type and the other is smaller kind of like a small single egg fryer. I'm not even sure if I would use these but they are there if you want em.
The main thing I liked was that the pot nested in the top ridge of the steamer and seemed like it would make a neat little hobo stove. Although it may be a bit small to be very efficient with sticks and twigs, it sure looks like it would work well with a tea light or esbit type fuel.
The strainer also nests back into the pot for more compact storage. The pot held just under 16oz of water filled up to about 1/4" below the rim, and measures about 4 1/4" inside diameter and about 2" tall.
If one likes a bit larger stove the pot also nests real nice into that utensil holder that I went to the store for.
I still have to cut some holes in both of the potential stove bodies and try them out, so I will try to follow up later.
