Does anybody have any experience with Justin Boots?
What can anybody tell me about their models made overseas?

I'm interested in a specific pair (which happens to be everything i want in a boot) but unfortunately, they are not one of the "Hand Crafted in the USA" line.

Does anybody know where their non US made boots are manufactured?

I wear Justin Original workboots everyday. I highly recommend them. They are not the best for trail walking as their soles do not have aggressive tread. I've only owned 1 pair of non USA made boots. They were in their outdoor line. They were well made and held up well for the 5 years I had them. I only wore them for hunting season and some camping trips. No complaints. I replaced them with Danner Elk hunter boots.

I wear Justin cowboy boots exclusively, both lace-up and standard. I only get the ones made in the US. I also like Double H boots and wore them growing up. Also made in the US.

I wear the U.S. made Justin boots and they are awesome. I think the U.S. made ones would be the safer bet for your money.

i have a pair of standard and lace ups as well. The pull ons have about 6.5 years on them. Only thing ive done is replace the insoles when the others wore out.

I wear and have two pair of the Justin Roper boots. They are made in China, but fit well and have lasted for over 2 years so far, and still are going strong. The brown pair I wear more for work type boots and a black pair for leisure. Justin recommends to buy half size smaller than your normal size for the Ropers.

My wife has a couple pairs of the Justin womens western boots. I recently got a pair of Chippewas that Im really loving. They are owned by Justin, and made in the good ol USA with a lifetime warranty and Vibram soles. Awesome woods boots.

I'll have to check those out! Thanks.

These are the ones I have. Not for everyone I'm sure, but they felt broke in out of the box, and are reaaalllyyyy well made. I like em better then the Usa danners. Classic looking with a great sole.

They have some great designs though including some nice waterproof hikers.

+2 on the chippewas. I have a pair of their cowboy boots that i wear everdyday. They are extremely comfortable and can take a serious beating(I have been known to be a little hard on boots).

I also have a pair of Justins lace up work boots. They are my go to outdoors boot.

I wear the ropers and suggest buying half a size smaller than your average. And it's kind of very hard for me to say, because I'm naturally insanely hard on my footware but in just everyday running around/in the yard/maybe into the woods a bit(not at work, though) mine last about a year before they look like crap. So I'll give them an, "average" rating for the price...But I've never worn any of the others of the same brand so can't rightly say =)

I wear Justin USA made cowboy boots everyday and they hold up very well.

This is great. Thanks for the info everyone. My problem is that i cant find boots with the features i want in any of the made in America lines. Chippewa and Justin both offer made in America lines, but, neither lines have the NON GORE-TEX waterproof option. the Justin boots im looking at have everything i want:
Non Gore-Tex waterproof design
Rugged out-sole (Lugged) suitable for hiking and the woods
simple and traditional design.
Non Steel Toe.

These are what meet my criteria, however, they are imported from china

The closest i can get to this in the Made in America Line is
This:

Or This

Neither of these boots have the Lug sole design, and the first one does not have the waterproof design, The second is waterproof, but via Gore Tex.

My problem with gore tex is this. With a closed (full leather upper, no mesh) boot, there is very little breath-ability, and a relative degree of water resistance (as long as the boots are well made and taken care of) because the leather itself is waterproof.
If you add gore tex, you would be making them water proof, but at the expense of making them much too hot to wear except in cold conditions. Wit the full leather upper inhibiting the breathability of the gore tex, the gore tex acts as a layer of insulation, and you get wet feet, not from water, but from sweat.

A non gore tex waterproof boot is waterproof because the leather is crafted in a pattern that leaves no inlets for water, and the joints and leather are sealed (full bootie design)

The only boot that i can find that meets all my criteria is made in China, and i am debating on settling for them.

Does anybody have any experience with Justin's non water proof boots in water? though they are not crafted specifically to be water tight, how do they perform in wet conditions?

I can't speak for the first two links but the last link, the gore tex boots I do own. I've had them for over 6 years. They are still going strong. As far as sweating, my feet do sweat alot and to eliminate that problem I wear a wool blend sock and recommend Anti Monkey Butt powder in your socks.

My feet sweat no matter what boots I wear. I've found cotton socks to be the worst but wool blend wicks away sweat along with the powder. Even in warm weather.

Im looking for a boot a lot like that one. i would prefer the 8 inch ankle, but those have really caught my eye.
How are they when it comes to water resistance?
