During the new year holiday, I went camping in the Kisatchie National Forest. We showed up at a spot I found months ago but unfortunately someone had the same idea and the spot was taken. So we drove up and down dirt roads during the night searching for a good spot. Around 10:00pm we found it. It was a beautiful place and I wish I had taken more pictures.

We were surrounded by Longleaf pines and Magnolia trees. The scenery was great, food was great and company was great. I am usually solo, so it was a pleasant trip. Anyway, here are a few pictures from the trip.

The weather was a little on the bad side which made for some crummy photos. I should have practiced with my camera a little more while it was gloomy. Here is my home for the 3 nights...

They had a prescribed burn recently which opened up the forest and gave us a little better view and made hiking a breeze. Here is the road we entered on...

Again, I wish I had taken more pictures. I had a great time and so did my friend. Another successful trip.

Thanks for looking.

Wow I have never seen back burning or prescribed burning as you call it. It must be the area where you live in. Here in Pa. the only time I have ever seen a forest or brush fire was due to careless burning or cigaretts thrown out the window.
