EDIT: back from surgery post-op the following day and I'm already officially 20/20, with it likely to improve further as the swelling goes down. Thanks all for the prayers and support, it means a lot! :)

Hey gang,

I don't often make prayer requests, but BCUSA is a special place and the only one I've been a part of where members support each other so staunchly with prayer and positivity. As you can tell from the thread title, I'm getting LASIK eye surgery tomorrow. I'm not really nervous about the procedure (yet), but any surgery is serious, so I appreciate any prayers/support.

It's gonna be great to wake up and actually be able to see first thing in the morning without groping around for glasses or contacts, especially in the woods! :dblthumb:

Awesome brother its literly the quickest surgery and one of the best things Ive ever done for myself. Only advice I can give is to stay hydrated and dont forget to take your drops even your saline drops cause waking up with your eyeball stuck to your eyelid hurts haha

I'de send some smoke but you'll have plenty of it coming off your eyeballs tomorrow :5:

Seriously, You know I just had PRK and I'm loving it... You'll be fine with all of us pulling for you. Just go home and take a nice long nap after.

SEE you later...

Good luck, even I know that has lasik said it wasn't that bad and was worth it.

I've always wanted to be free of my glasses. Best of luck and a speedy recovery. Also, let us know how it goes in the long run, how's the vision, etc.

Good luck, man. I had it a few years back. The first day after surgery is scary as all get out, but then it gets better :)

Prayers sent, and be sure to let us know how it holds up for you, if it lasts, etc:)

Cheers bro!

Anybody hear anything yet?

I'm sure he's sleeping or just resting... the first 24 hours are the worst... kind of like having sand in the eyes (or contacts in with something under them if you know that feeling).

Yep not really painful but so annoying you want to rip your eyeballs out. He will be good after a few days

Hey all, still supposed to be avoiding reading or anything but I wanted to hop on and say thanks for all the well wishes and let you all know I'm ok, surgery is done and my vision is definitely improved.

They had a little trouble on my right eye, some air bubbles got under there and we had to try and wait them out. Sitting in the waiting room for 30-45 min waiting for the air bubbles to clear (while the anesthetic drops wore off) hurt a lot worse than anything post-surgery, believe it or not. Still didn't really clear the bubbles but they were able to go ahead and work around it. After that it was go home, eat and sleep from like 8pm through until late this morning to give my eyes time to heal.

I can see well as of this morning, but I can tell my left eye vision is clearer than my right. But, it continues to improve as it heals so it will probably be a while before I know exactly how it's going to turn out. Will keep you all posted after my post-op appt today.

Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes!

glad to hear from you I wouldnt worry about your vision your eyes will go back and forth between wich one is better then the other

I had it done in 2001 or so. It was one of the best things I have ever done and if I knew how good the procedure worked, I would have done it alot sooner than I did. I have 20/17 vision now which is better than perfect vision. Goodluck and sleep as much as you can after the procedure, keeping your eyes closed helps with the healing process.

I am VERY, VERY happy for you! Being able to see clearly is something most of us take for granted...until we lose it. Having to wear glasses myself, it would be GREAT to be able to chuck those glasses right out the window! :)

Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery and clear vision!

I have 6 friends who had it
They wore major glasses all their lives and are so pleased with th results.

Ok, just got back from the Dr.'s office for my post-op and he said it looks really good, better than usual actually, which I attribute to having slept for something like 15 hours after the surgery :D

Already at 20/20 vision (left eye a little clearer than the right though) and it'll probably even out and get better over time as the swelling goes down. I'm officially free of glasses now, and time will tell what the final results will be but it's looking good so far! :)

Prayers for you... The surgery will help ALOT you will be able to see much better and taking the burdin of glasses and contacts from you, letting you enjoy life more.
