So my wife got me a collins boys axe for christmas. They don't come with a sheath so I decided to make one out of leather. I went to a local leather shop and picked up some scrap leather pieces and some artificial sinew and went to town. This is my first leather project but I think it turned out all right.

Now just need to sharpen it up.

Thanks guys. I definitely learned a few things and would do a few things differently next time. I really like the axe it is very well balanced actually and the grain in the haft is almost all vertical and very comfortable.

Question for you, how hard/how long did it take you?

I picked up two cheap true temper axes online that didn't have sheaths, but I found some for like the 15 dollar range. I think I would rather make mine, but I'm not sure if it's even worth it.

It wasn't really all that hard, it took me maybe a half an hour to an hour to get it all layed out and done. I think if I were to make a second one it would take even less time. I spent $4 on the leather and could make two or three with how much I got.
