*mods...hope this is OK - if not please delete.

LOL - this is kinda silly - but if you've been BLESSED with being a leftie....you know the deal!

we spend our whole life "adapting". :9:

from kindergarten and the "hey, you are writing with the wrong hand!"
to the every day stuff like scissors and even the layout of cars...it's a 'rightie' world!

don't even get me started on getting pelted in the face with hot M-16 shell casings! I think had constant burns on my right cheek in the service! :4:

I've got LOTS of "leftie" stuff over the years...and thought you all may want to share some of your finds - show off, or help the others! :42:

of course I HAD to get a the "southpaw" from Charter Arms - I actually have a matched pair - lefty and "normal" :

I found out the Awl on the SAK Farmer is made for a lefty!
(the founder was a lefty!:))

Most "chisel grinds" seem set up perfect for lefties!
My HAK constant companion:

I had 2 separate family member gift me lefty folders (that I have no use for, not a folder person)
but it's great Spyderco makes a lefty in their Military
and the other is called a M-16-13SFGL from CRKT
both "totally lefty" :

but...one of those same family members did GREAT when I got this T-shirt from them this year!

if I was still into the whole black rifle thing...I'd prob have a stag arms "lefty"
http://www.stagarms.com/index.php?cPath=13_21

so....LEFTIES! what'ya got? what have you found?
I know...we can all adapt...but hey, we can also take pride in our "special-ness"

I know...Church lady lines...yes, I know I'm "special" :30::9:

I'm a lefty but other than writing, I've always used the right hand as well since it seemed to be a little bit stronger. I haven't had any problems with "adapting", always felt that many things were ambidextrous. It is nice that the knife on a Swisschamp seems to be made for a lefty though.

One problem that took a little bit of getting used to was modifying the rifles to not shoot hot casings in my face. There was a LH right eye dominant problem but was easily trained out of with some practice.

Church lady didn't say you were special....

She said you evil....maybe possessed by....UM.... SATAN!

I know the Nuns would "encourage" all the lefties to convert....LOL

Man! I'd give my right arm to be ambidexterous!

Seriously, I am an ambi. I used to be lefthanded until 1st grade and was made to do everything righthanded from then on. My left eye is dominate so I shoot rifle and shotguns lefthanded and pistols and bows righthanded (I think I'm just confused) I have both left and right handed flintlock muzzleloaders and and got used to the flash going off in my face. The M-16 was a problem in the military, but got used to it also. All my other long guns are righthanded.

Me too! It has led to a lifetime of hesitation about reaching for things. My natural tendency versus training. My grandaughter is a lefty and things are different now, no one has even considered trying to "change" her.

THIS is one of the best things about our new "permissive" society I believe.
I was VERY fortunate that my parents stood up strongly for me in the 60's and 70's...schools were "pounding the devil hand" out of most kids back then, unfortunately.

**and thanks, Sweeney - I knew I could on you, bro! :54:

Gotta say, its much easier being a Southpaw now then it used to be, pretty cool actually being able to buy gear made for ya..

Left handed with almost everything except golf and hockey...I am right handed??? Dad and brother are the same way.

Although I'm a righty my grandpa was a lefty. My first shotgunning experience was with a left handed 410 pump. I inherited that gun and still have it. Safety still confuses me lol.

He was a big outdoors guy and had tons of lefty fishing equipment too. To this day when I use any fishing reel I use it set up for a lefty. Just feels right to me now.

Other than my grandpa though, I think all you leftys are shifty folk that are not to be trusted. :9:

I'm a southpaw too.

I've made most of my left-handed gear myself.

I also have a couple of Uncle Mike's LH holsters.

good stuff guys....I forgot about the fishing reels - I set them all up to reel righty so I can cast with my left hand. Fly, Baitcasting, Spinning....all of 'em.

and i actually HAVE a set of Wilson Golf Clubs that are lefty! lol.
gave up the game decade ago at least...but they are in the attic!

My Mother, Father, and Brother are lefties. I am Right handed, though I play hockey with a left handed stick.

Oh, and in case some of you haven't looked this up before the reason being Left handed was always considered bad is because that's the hand people used to wipe their butt with. so in the days before TP or the Sears Catalog if you saw someone using their left hand to touch things it would be eeewww gross...

I'm a lefty but right eye dominant. That makes is easy for shooting rifles and bows. Still have to set up my fishing stuff lefty. Confuses the hell out of kids when I try and teach them to cast. Learning how to do some stuff right handed just so I can teach my kids LOL Still carve leftly though. They're on their own for figuring out how to reverse the holds. Moras are too sharp not to feel comfortable holding.

Being left handed is great I learned to use both hands for everything. I can shoot either handed equally well doesn't matter which hand the gun is in. I can use a knife in either hand also. I have ran into to lefties who have never figured out how to use their right hand and it just makes me scratch my head and wonder why.

i grew up in a house with a lefthanded step mother and father. my wife and son and grandfather are all lefties. i am righthanded my self but with all the lefties i started to write left handed and never quite could do always felt weird to me however i eat left handed and am left eye dominate which is loads of fun when putting holes in targets.

gosh, Dave...I forgot all about bows!

I remember growing up. There were a few kids my age around. One "bear" longbow.
Of course...it was "wrong sided"....wonder if that's why I never really got into bows????

beautiful pics there - that reworked mountain gun is awesome!

I am left handed when in the northern hemisphere and righthanded when in the southern hemisphere, which makes me bi-polar.

Let us not speak of scissors, felt tipped pens and permanent pencil marks on the side of my hand throughout school.

We are just an oppressed minority with few exceptions, for instance driving a standard transmission in Barbados and Great Britain felt correct. I quickly adapted to shifting with my smart hand. My right handed wife had much difficulty and never got comfortable with it.
