I just cut the crap outta my thumb. I was tryin to make a table for a bow drill and my barong slipped and tagged my left thumb Sorry no pics, aint gotta camera. But i wanted to hear some other stories on peoples Accidents.

I have a really cool scar across the top first section of the index finger of my left hand. I was sawing with one of those buck saws and it slipped out of the kerf and landed on my finger, cut to the bone. I wear gloves now...

Cut my fore finger and thumb with my new clipper that I made. Just deep enough to take the finger print off and leave me in lingering pain.

I stuck my SAK into my left wrist trying to open a Christmas present :)
5 stitches later I got to see what the gift was!

Took the corner off a finger on a meat slicer. There's the old F117 on my arm, where I turned and ran into the open door of a pizza oven, leaving a perfect outline of a stealth bomber. The most embarrassing? Monday night I took a shortcut through a construction site, stepped on a brick wrong and turned my ankle funny. X-rays on wednesday said two cracked bones in my foot. Four weeks in a leg cast and six weeks benched from my day-job. You guys are gonna be hearing a lot more of me for the next month or so.

I removed the tip of my right index finger when I was like 12. I stuck it back on with a band-aid and it took...along with an uber-annoying chunk of wood that took YEARS to dissolve.

Busted my left hand with a radial arm saw. It fell off the track in the tower, dropping the running saw and blade into the board I was cutting. It blew up the wood, bent the sawblade, snapped my left pinky in half and ripped a gouge out of my left ring finger. Not technically a cut, but it bled (a lot) and required medical attention.

I'm guessing were gonna keep this limited to hand injuries... Let's see...

I've recently cut into the palm of my left hand right under where the thumb comes into the palm. I've cut the tips of both ring fingers (separate incidents years apart). One tip was almost sliced off... Both required stiches as I couldn't stop the bleeding. I've got scars on my right hand from shattered glass and a few other little scars some of which I couldn't remember the incident...

There must be something going around I just stabbed myself with an x-acto chisel thing a few minutes before this thread was started.

My worst and most embarassing moment..... I was at work, last hour of the day, doing the trimming work on a black locust tree with my GB small forest axe. By sheer freak luck it for some reason skittered off the tree and the heel of the bit went perfectly into my right heel. After pulling the axe out and cleaning up with the help of a co-worker, I hobbled to my truck and drove back to camp. I never went to the ER and just relied on my Eagle Scout/ wilderness first aid skills. Luckily my woman was driving out to see me so I had someone to baby me a bit. I am still very surprised that the wound did not go septic as the living conditions were far from sanitary. Only four days off work. Got a nice scar.

Funny this thread came up, I just got myself today. I was messing with some fat wood and was setting it in place to split it with my mora. I wasnt putting much pressure on the wood, just enough to hold it in place, the damn thing went right through the wood and nearly sliced a big portion of my pointer finger off.

Whew did she bleed!

Well, i got a nice scar down to the bone on the right thumb. Story is i was cutting something with a saw, and it ate my thumb. No blood. I got my hands on it too quick and i think i was 13. This past Thursday, i sliced the meaty part of my right index finger at work on a nail that was being used to secure a lever under tension. I grabbed it, and my hand slipped(slipped before but this was the first time i got cut.) Deep one too. After iu bought my SAK Huntsman, i was cleaning it under cool water and next thing i know, there's blood in the sink comming from the pad on my right thumb. That's about it. Other various nics from work.

Opening day of bow season this year whittling up in my stand I slipped (stupidity at its finest) and put a nice cut on my left hand index finger right to the bone. Lets just say that afternoon hunt was cut short as I had to climb down and walk back to the car leaving a nice blood trail of my own. Healed up surprisingly quick but I think I might of hit a nerve, almost instant arthritis in that finger it seems like.

I seem to always cut myself with my knives but never too bad.

:4:Glad i aint the only one that does it. Couple of my buddies seem to think im the only one that cuts himself. They also pick on me mercilessly for it lol.

So I was whipping the hilt of this knife with flat leather lacing when i happened upon a thin spot and the lace broke- my hand slipped forward under the uncovered blade, fileting a bone and tendon deep flap from my forefinger. Luckily it remained connected.
just about the worst thing i ever did with a knife.
As the Doc was finishing up my wife asked what's for lunch?

I said sadly: I dont care as long as it's not steak fingers

Just finished stropping the Condor the other night and then stabbed it into my index finger, instant pain, grazed the bone you see, luckily it was not a long cut, just deep, took no pics as the only on my mind was pain, clumsy and got no sympathy from Wife..LOL.

When I was about 15 I slipped with my knife. It was an Old Timer Sharpfinger (Funny coincidence), and I stuck it through my finger. Yup, right through, and about an inch and a half out the other side. Made for a cool scar though! I will NOT tell anyone what stupid thing I was doing when it happened...

Looker

I sliced my right index finger opening the sheath of my marbles pack axe on an outing yesterday. didn't have my kit with me so had to ride my bike back to the truck a mile away to get a bandaid on it. stupid me.

cleaning off the blade of a sticker new food processor blade last night my thumb slipped and I have a deep flap of flesh. I super glued it together and now it hurts to put any pressure on it.

Ok, Left thumb- about age 9 I had a large stainless prybar shaped like a bowie-Not sure which side was supposed to be sharp, but the thinner side was the one I was using. I was whacking a pc of willow at grandad's pond and put the knife right into the left thumb knuckle. Looked a lot like the white knee joint in an uncooked chicken thigh/leg. Same thumb about 3 years later, I made a skinning type blade and cracked the handle peening the nale rivet. I used another knife to pry the scales off. Slipped and slid the egde down the thumb right above the joint where it joins my hand. To da bone.

Best one-Right pinky. I was doing dishes right after getting married. I had a very thin glass held between my thumb and forefinger. I put it under the hot running water with my pinky extended like I was some high classed something another. The triangle shard broke off the glass and stayed bewteen my thumb and forefinger as the glass with it's V notch slid down the extended pinky. It flayed a flap a 1 1/4" x 1/2" slice down the inside of the finger where it lays against the right ring finger. It was a bleeder, had to get stiches to get it to stop. I still don't have much feeling on the inside tip. Moral of the story- don't do dishes.

I love the moral of that story lol. :4:

I'v only had a knife accident once that i can remember. It was in the early nineties. I was rushing to work in town. It was very cold and needed to put some cardboard in front of the rad. I quickly pulled out my box cutter to cut the cardboard and was noticing i was doing it wrong and something could happen . Just then the knife let go and right into my kneecap. I had to go to the hospital for stitches and was off work for days. The good thing is the doc at emerge became my family doc from then on.

Was wrapping a buck paclite with paracord, stuck the point in my lap to tighten the wrap and damn near punctured lefty. Didnt like that knife anyway.
