So, as karma would have it, I didn't take pictures from when I refinished my $5 yardsale camp axe. As a result, the shaft broke harvesting a burl after some heavy-duty work harvesting fatwood...

This is the first axe head I have ever re-hung, and the first leather project I have undertaken... Open to criticism...:

Looks good! If it's not sunk through a welt, be careful of the rivet when resheathing.
 
Rivet goes through the welt. I just wanted to be sure that that corner stayed put. I didn't trust the leather glue, as it was coming apart while sewing...
 
Looks good. I really like the sheath you made for it. Very nice addition. I've used that same handle you did for a couple hatchets and they've held up very well.

That's good to know. When I found it at my local Ace, I figured that I'd start with a $5 version to get my feet wet with re-hafting than to dump over $35 on a GB handle only to make kindling...
 
Very nice work. Even stitches and in a straight line, makes leather pieces look very professional and you have accomplished that. Good job!
