Modifying Rifleman Hawk

I was wondering if anyone has dremelled a bowl in the side of the hawk to use as a fire bow drill socket. Also will a squared off top edge make a good flint / ferro striker?

I don't have a rifleman hawk just a trailhawk tried my ferr rod on it worked fine without filing it down

If you would do that, why not just get the pipe hawk? Good idea though except that you would be putting a lot of pressure down directly towards the blade.

Was thinking if took handle out could hold by the hammer head with the blade facing away. When I pack it I have the handle seperate.
