Mora for the Bushcraft Ladies...

I would get one of those and carry it at work. Then customers would say why is the knife pink. Not why do you have that knife. Pink is also a calming color so maybe psychologically it might be a good for anyone version.

A few years ago I was looking for a new fly rod. When I went to the supplier he had the rod, but it was wrapped in pink windings. I purchased it anyway. As I was paying for it the owner says something like your wife will like that rod. I told him it was my rod. He says well let me order you another one then, that’s a girl’s rod. Really? Will the men’s rod be different in any way beside the color of the wraps? Will it cast differently? Maybe the fish will know they’ve been caught by a man using a woman’s rod. I’m more than comfortable with who I am to use what I want. A pet peeve of mine is seeing manufactures belittle women with this pink is their color thing. And while I understand the Breast Cancer thing, realize that men too suffer from that disease.

If I painted the stock of my M-1 pink would it then be a girl’s rifle? Would it be a kinder gentler killing machine then? Changing the color of something doesn’t change it’s gender. Changing the shape, weight, ergonomics might make it easier for a small person (not necessarily a woman, mind you) to use it, but color doesn’t do anything. Heck if it did wouldn't all “men’s” knives be blue?

Rant off, I’ll crawl back into my pink tent now :D

My wife hates the whole pink thing as well geared towards women.

They don't ship to the US..........already tried a few months ago. Was going to hang on to one for my daughter.

wow after WW1 said all that I am afraid I am betraying my sex somehow by saying I like Pink.... but I do.... oh the shame.... I have fallen into the trap of gender roles and stereo types placed on women by society.... oh no when did that happen.... Thats okay it wouldn't match anything I wear hiking anyways

I read you as a strong independent gal (like all the women here frankly) if you like pink it is because you like pink, not because some manufacture told you it was your color.

The best thing about a pink mora would be that it would be hard to lose.

I use pink mason line and flagging tape as markers sometimes. Works great for me.

I'm going to get Turley a couple, I know he'll love them.

I used to carry a pink lighter at work when I smoked. Never had a problem with it "walking off" like other colors.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Anything pink owned by a guy just won't get stolen by other guys.

The ironic thing is that pink = girl / blue = boy thing is flip flopped from history.

Pink and light blue are diminutives of their primaries, red and blue.

If youre at all up on your Greco-Roman associations, Red is masculine as it is the color for Mars and war. Blue is feminine as it is the color of the sea, itself representative of Venus, who was associated with sex, fertility and prosperity.

These associations stood until the 1800s or so.

I dont dislike pink at all and dont begrudge anyone who enjoys it. Its a great color! As I type this Im wearing an obnoxious amount of it in fact (YAY! Pajamas at noon!). I just happen to be slightly in lust with most things purple. For outdoorsy stuff, if its not natural earth tones - make mine purple please! Im actually trying to work up the nerve to hit my AKs furniture with a coat or three of Plum Krylon Fusion paint.

Order of the Arrow

There is an organization with in the BSA called the "Order of the Arrow". THe O/A is set up by lodges; one of those lodges is the Woapink Lodge. If you are a member of the Woapink, you do anything you can to get your kit in pink! These will sell well!

Too bad. My daughter loves her purple accented Mora Punch. I would love to get her this pink knife.

That would go good in my pink/foliage Maxpedition Versipack.. Too bad BCO doesn't sell these..

(Think I'm joking about the Maxped... Review coming out soon......)

I need a couple of these for my two youngest girls. The older one is happy with her Finn Bear in black. Black or camo is her pref.

Wife's would be pink, but she'd never use it. Our kitchen knives are too sharp, so she uses the last two crappy serrated wunder knives from a set I was given eons ago.
