Man, it has been a long time since I have posted/participated anything here. Life had gotten in the way, yada...yada...yada. But I do hope to start contributing and asking more questions from here on out.

Anyway, Trapper (my dog) and I took a stroll by a local river and I had my camera with me -

Just showing a touch of ice on the river here in NE Iowa -

Beaver chewed sticks starting to get trapped in the ice -

I was very happy with this pic I got of Trapper -

Decided to touch up my SAK with a piece of sandstone to see how that worked. Not too bad (OK not an official fire stick, but the blade did get sharper) -

Official fire sticks on the way. Got a new Mora from my daughter -

Peace and take care -

Thanks for the compliments on the dog. He's the first lab I've owned - hard to imagine owning another breed from here on out...

congrats on getting out. labs will do it to ya... got an 'ebony and ivory' combo 10 feet from me as I type this.

that is a nice shot you got - screensaver material. :)

Which river is that? I live right by the Cedar River.

Iowa looks to be a pretty place. Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Thank you all for the kind compliments, they are very welcoming.

Mojoe - That is the Volga River in Fayette County.

Thanks! I'll have to get over there to check it out sometime. It's pretty close to home up here in Osage.

Grew up in QC area in IA. Dad took me to the NE part of the state trout fishing and hunting a lot as a kid. Boy do those pictures bring back some memories of the pretty country up that way.
