If you have tried carrying your sheath knife as Mors Kochanski recommends, around your neck, you might have noticed it capsizes or twists occasionally, making it somewhat inconvenient.

I solved the problems I was having by making a hanger, which I call the Mors Kneck Knife hanger.

Pictures show how you can make one:

Good looking rig. I just don't like anything around my neck that doesn't have a "slip" of some kind to keep from lynching myself. I wonder if you could cut the strap and install a plain inline buckle. That should hold the weight of the knife and sheath and still slip out under your weight. ymmv

Good point on the lynching thoughts, I think a quick way to solve that potential problem with this design would be to put a small section of velcro in the webbing that with some pressure would just pull off...

I like the idea of webbing, much more stable and comfortable, great build!

I usualy just use para cord but I'm thinking that this is pretty fine idea. I may have to steal this from you. Awesome job and I second the break-away ability with some velcro or something like that.

Thank you!

If you use a two-pass bar tack instead of a box stitch to attach the grosgrain to the 1 1/2" webbing, it would serve as a break away.

A buckle would work as well. You could replace the ladder lock with a buckle.

Velcro would work, too!

It's free, so steal something else!

There are several ways to implement a break away.

Thanks, folks!

Much nicer than a paracord IMHO...way more comfy looking...looks intentional instead of "this'llwork".

Looks like it'd be easy to modify the design a tad. I sling my necker around and under my right arm, like a shoulder holster, but the knife hangs on my chest. Keeps it from falling forward into whatever I'm working on and it doesn't swing around when I walk.

Just make the grosgrain ribbon longer, and you can use it that way. I like it!

Yeah, I shoulder-holster mine as well. Also use thin braintan as the loop
Good stuff!

I can't stand anything on my neck...and seriously dont understand why so many people do that. I've had the same belt for 20 years and it's never fallen off once....and thats where I put my knife.

Not knocking your build in the least bud, just wouldn't be for me either way.
